Rehabilitation
If a horse has been injured, or otherwise have been stalled for an extended period - or if a horse has had some inappropriate experiences - it is important to build "muscle" re-building leadership and confidence. In fact it is often a retraining or a whole new Breaking in training process there is needed. This way will the horse again elect man as its leader - both from the ground and then from the back. A retraining process often doesn’t take long because everything that the horse has previously learned still is present.
Training of Adonis: "When I bought Adonis three years ago, I was very green about having a horse, and as Adonis is a dominant gentleman, he quickly took control. This resulted in the fact that he began to attack people. He went his own way. In riding he would jump and trip. He would not go forward, only backwards. He often ran off with his head completely in the air. All his bad habits done that I lost confidence in him. I was close to giving up with him. But I wanted things to work, and had heard about Mia through a former colleague. I had read the ad about her and Bess in the local newspaper, and took first contact to her for help. But after a couple of sessions moved both Adonis and I down to Mias farm. This stay has given me a completely different horse. He’s now down to earth, and it has given me back control over him. He is now ridden in dressage position with a bit less bridle, and preferably without saddle, as we both think this is wonderful."
Many thanks for your help Mia Regards Adonis and Nadia."
